Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival Procedures:

• Supervision begins at 7:40am (As a result, students should NOT begin to arrive until 7:40am)
• Students begin to enter the building at 7:47am at their pod doors
• After 7:47 am, students may enter the front doors
• School begins at 7:55am
• After 7:55am, students are considered late and must go straight to the office for a tardy slip

Students in grades K-2 arrive and go to the blacktop on the east playground

K - Team 1 - East Playground, South Doors 1st and 2nd Grades - Team 2 - East Playground, North Doors

Students in grades 3-6 go to the blacktop on the west playground

3rd and 4th Grades - Team 4 - West Playground, South Doors
5th and 6th Grades - Team 3 - West Playground, North Doors
The following applies to students arriving to school via car line, bus, day care van, bike, or walking.
 

Dismissal Procedures: 

• Dismissal begins at 2:55 (1:55 on Thursdays). Only buses and registered before and after school program vans will be allowed in the West traffic circle.
• All students will be picked up from the main carline unless they are riding daycare vans, the school bus or are a part of ASP (After School Program)
• All students will be dismissed from the front of the school unless they are riding daycare vans, the school bus or are a part of ASP (After School Program)
• K-2nd grade students will be dismissed from their teacher through carline procedures (see 3rd-6th dismissal) or walk up pickup
• Parents are welcomed to park in our Garner parking lot and walk up to receive their student. The adult and student must let the teacher know that they are picking the student up.
• 3rd-6th grade students walk with other students, ride their bikes, or listen for their names to be announced by staff. The driver is given a number to a spot to park. The student will meet the driver at that spot. The driver will safely drive away.
   

Car Line Procedures: 

• Drop off between Start and stop signs only - Pull up all the way to the start sign and only drop off between signs. This is for the safety of students, and keeps the car line moving the fastest. 
• Parents who park and walk students to the building please let all cars pass and come to a complete stop before walking across the street. This will help the car line be as fast as possible.
• Be patient and drive slow - 5mph
• No passing in the car line - Do not pass, even if your car is unloaded and you are ready to leave.
• Drop off curbside only
• Driver must stay in the vehicle at all times
• No parking or waiting in the car line
• Drop offs in the car line only - Please do not drop off your student in the parking areas and let them get out and walk by themselves. Students, regardless of age, must be walked across the car line to the sidewalk. Do not load or unload students in the parking lot area without being in a parking spot or being in the car line.
• Preschool Drop off - Preschool drop off begins at 7:55 in the east parking lot. Please do not drop off prior to this time. If you have K-6 students please drop them off and park in the East parking lot, then park and wait until 7:55. Do not park in either of the drop off lines. Your students must be escorted across the parking lot towards the west playground.
